Welcome to iVenture’s Weekly Culture Workshop. Each lesson teaches you how to embrace positive work culture beyond the employee handbook. You’ll learn what traits to encourage and how you can improve your own company culture.

This week Aaron Ward, our director of technology, has a great example on driving innovation and being relentless about improvement.

Driving Innovation & Relentless Improvement

Andrew Garcia, Technical Consultant

Aaron:

One of our technical consultants, Andrew Garcia, demonstrates these two traits incredibly well.

In his position, Andrew spends a lot of time considering how to best support all of our clients’ unique tech needs.

Andrew really digs into technical details to ensure solutions are vetted before we roll them out. But he doesn’t stop there. Rather than keeping his ideas to himself, Andrew communicates and shares everything he learns.

In some circles, this type of transparency isn’t common. People often withhold information to cement their position and avoid competition. But Andrew does the opposite. He wants everyone to succeed. That makes him more valuable than anything!

The Key Takeaway

Andrew is always on the look-out for our clients’ best interests.  In your daily routine, examine your processes to see where improvements can be made. Then share! Encourage your team to do the same. Set up a system for bringing new ideas to the table.

Actions To Take

At the start of each meeting this week, recognize someone who’s been relentless about improvement.

It could be how someone found a different way to achieve results; potentially saving time and reducing admin work. Make sure you communicate and share those ideas with your team.

At iVenture, we take company culture as seriously as we take IT. It’s what makes our business so successful. When employees are happy, clients are happy. We want to help others achieve the same results.
