Going Back To Work: Times Are Changing
A new way of back to work work is emerging. One we call the “hybrid workplace”. As businesses reopen, there will be a split between employees.
- Some will return to the office
- Others will continue remotely
- Those who alternate between office and remote
Our Findings
We surveyed our clients and business associates to learn how soon they’d be comfortable going back to work in the office. As you can see, the differences are drastic.
Small-business employees feel safer returning back to work now. Employees of larger businesses are more cautious. And there are holdouts across the board — employees who aren’t taking any risks until vaccinated.
We expect this split to shift over time. As precautionary orders are lifted, schools open and a vaccine is available, people may return to the office. Some will prefer to stay remote.
The First Steps
Companies have to address and adapt to employee needs. This means creating fully functional work environments in office and at home.
This is where IT shines brightest. With the right tools and team, your business can thrive anywhere.
There are three areas of focus.
- Cybersecurity (how can we keep safe while working in different places?)
- Productivity (how can we maintain effectiveness and efficiency from different places?)
- Culture (how can we keep/build a strong company culture when we’re separated?)
